About Us

Shooting sports take a particular sort of skill and a desire to learn that skill, not to mention you need to know the equipment and respect the equipment for what it is. Guns are tools that should be respected and handled with care.

Here at The Clay Bird, we have many different options for you when it comes to shooting sports.

The Options

Between clay shooting, skeet shooting, and clay sporting, there are unique differences in all three types of shooting. In some cases, it’s related to the launchers, while in others, it’s related to the shotgun types that are best suited for what you’re shooting.

The Equipment

Never put yourself out on a range without having the right gear. That includes having the proper protective gear to keep yourself and others safe.

That also includes having the right containers for carrying different types of shells. Gun bags can be a great thing to have on hand, too, because not only can you move your gun safely, but you can also carry your ammo, eye pro, and ear pro in a single place.

You’ll also find some other accessories for your shotguns like choke tubes and storage cases.

Teaching Them Right from the Start

Obviously, we love guns, but we are firm believers that youth participants need to learn how to respect a gun for what it is, along with how to use it properly.

We encourage this by being strong supporters of the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation. Every coach is an NRA range certified instructor that has taken the required training, so youth participants will learn the correct way to handle a gun.

You’ll also find information on gun safety because safety is of the utmost importance when handling a gun. To help you out, we offer suggestions on safety lessons as well as the right gear to provide the safest and enjoyable experience possible.

Finding Guns to Purchase

We will help you find gun brokers that will assist you in legally buying, selling, and trading guns. Be sure you understand the laws, so you know what to expect when you’re dealing with a gun broker.

A gun broker is the middleman. When you have someone that has guns they want to sell, the gun broker can help find someone that wants to buy them from you.

In some cases, it’s an online resource like GunBrokers.com, where people can go in and create an account. Sellers and buyers can post guns that they have for sale or are interested in. Gun brokers will handle the transaction that takes place between a buyer and a seller.

It is important to note that the gun broker does not take care of federal firearm licensing or shipping of the firearms. At that point, a gun dealer would need to be involved on both ends – shipping and receiving. Your broker might be able to help you find a dealer, too, to make the process smoother for you.

Whatever your needs are, here at The Clay Bird, we’ll be happy to help you along the way.
